We are very excited to offer a truly unique opportunity for our local kids.  Rochester's own, Mitch Brown, former 2nd Round Draft Pick of the Cleveland Indians, will be holding an exclusive 2 Hour Pitching Clinic for our BYBA pitchers in grades 6-8.

As a senior at Rochester Century, Mitch was named ESPN.com Player of the Year, Minnesota's Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year, as well as many other accolades.  Mitch pitched at the professional level for 7 seasons, most recently with the AA Akron RubberDucks.

2020 5000 Swing Club


Program will start May 1, 2020 and conclude August 31, 2020.  Participants are challenged to complete 5,000 swings within the time frame.  All participants must register before May 1st. 

Swings can be completed with any type of training (soft-toss, T work, rear-toss, front toss, live BP, muscle-memory swings, etc).  There will be a reward for completing the challenge.

2020 Youth Umpires

Registration for Youth Players interested in being an Umpire for the 2020 BYBA Season.  You must attend the BYBA umpire clinic, which will be scheduled closer to the start of the season and complete concussion training.  Umpires are paid on a per game basis.

2020 Rookies In-House (Pre-K - 1st Grade)

Eligibility:  Completed Kindergarten or First Grade.

Schedule:  Mondays and Wednesdays from June 1st to July 31st.  Week 1 is practice only.  Weeks 2-8 are one practice and one game.  Weather may necessitate changes to the schedule including possible game or practice on the weekends, week nights will not change.

Description:  Fundamental skills and rules of the game will be taught.  All batters will hit each inning but bases are cleared after three outs.  Teamwork and good sportsmanship, no matter the result of the game, will be emphasized.

2020 Minors Season (2nd and 3rd Grade)

Eligibility:  Completed Second Grade or Third Grade.

Schedule:  Practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays and games on Saturdays from June 2nd to August 8.  Weather may necessitate changes to the schedule including possible game or practice on the weekends, week nights will not change.

Description:  Fundamental skills and rules of the game will be taught.  Early season, coaches will pitch to the players, approximately half way thru the season, players will pitch and no walks are allowed.  After four balls a coach will come in and pitch.  Scores will be kept and records of the standings are kept.  Teamwork and good sportsmanship, no matter the result of the game, will be emphasized.

Third Graders interested in trying out for the 9U Traveling Team, please register in the section below.  If your player does not make the ZVL team, they will automatically be enrolled in the Minors program.

2020 9U Traveling Team (3rd Grade)

3rd Grade 9U ZVL Team

All players will be evaluated and the top players will make a ZVL Traveling Team.  Players registered that don't make the ZVL team will play in the Minors program.  Tryouts will be the first week in April.

Eligibility:  Completed Third Grade.

Schedule:  The traveling team will compete in the Zumbro Valley League (ZVL).  We will play 6-8 nights (approximately 16 games) and will play in one away tournament, the home Byron tournament, and the ZVL end of the season tournament.  All games will likely be double headers with the possibility of a couple of scrimmages prior to the start of the season.  Half of the games will be on the road, within an hour driving distance.  Game nights will vary.  In addition to games, the team will practice twice a week (one practice could be on weekends).   

Description:  Fundamental skills and rules of the game will be taught as we continue to develop players.  Pitchers may pitch up to four innings per night. Scores and records will be kept.  Teamwork and good sportsmanship will be emphasized no matter the result of the game.  

Cost:  $100 with an additional $25 fee charged if the player makes the ZVL team.

All Players will be evaluated and the top 12 players will make the MBL AA Traveling Team; all other ZVL team(s) will be as equal as possible.  Please see the 10U traveling guidelines in the document section of our website for questions about the make-up of the teams. Tryouts will be the first week in April.

Eligibility:  ZVL open to players who have completed Fourth Grade.  MBL open to players that will not reach 11 years old before May 1, 2020.  



All Players will be evaluated, top 11-12 players will make the MBL 13 U AA traveling team, and all other SE MN Jr. Babe Ruth or ZVL teams will be as equal as possible.  Please see the 13U traveling guidelines in the document section of our website for questions about the make-up of the teams. Tryouts will be the first week in April.

Eligibility: ZVL / Babe Ruth open to players who have completed Seventh Grade. MBL open to players that will not reach 14 years old before May 1, 2020.  

Schedule:  The MBL Team will compete in the Metro Baseball League (MBL) at the AA level. The ZVL / Babe Ruth Teams will compete in the Zumbro Valley League (ZVL) or the SE MN Jr. Babe Ruth League.  All games will likely be double headers with the possibility of a couple of scrimmages prior to the start of the season.  Game nights will vary.  In addition to games, the team will practice twice a week (one practice could be on weekends).

All Players will be evaluated, top players will make the traveling tournament team in addition to the 14U ZVL team.  Please see the 14U traveling guidelines in the document section of our website for questions about the make-up of the teams. Tryouts will be the first week in April.

Eligibility:  Completed Eigth Grade.

Schedule:  The ZVL Team will compete in the Zumbro Valley League.  All games will likely be double headers with the possibility of a couple of scrimmages prior to the start of the season.  Game nights will vary.  In addition to games, the team will practice twice a week (one practice could be on weekends).   The Tournament Team will play in additional tournaments on top of the ZVL Schedule.

If you want to coach a BYBA In-house team this season, you must complete this application.  Before the season, you must complete concussion training, if you haven't taken it within the last 3 years (documentation of training completion is required).  You must also attend the BYBA Coaches Seminar, dates and more information about the seminar will be sent out later.  A background check will be required if you are selected to coach and will be need to be done before you work with your team.  BYBA will pay for the background check.  If any problems are uncovered by the background check, you will not be allowed to coach.

If you want to coach a BYBA traveling team this season, you must complete this application and agree to be interviewed by the BYBA traveling committee.  Before the interview, you must complete concussion training, if you haven't taken it within the last 3 years (documentation of training completion is required).  You must also have a 1.5 hour practice plan prepared for your interview.  You must also attend the BYBA Coaching Seminar, date and more information about the seminar will be sent out later.  Registration closes on March 28, interviews will happen the first week of April and coaches will be selected by April 11th.  A background check will be required if you are selected to coach and will be need to be done before you work with your team.  BYBA will pay for the background check.  If any problems are uncovered by the background check, you will not be allowed to coach.
